TANESCO Makes History with Mass Recruitment: 555 New Employees Join the Ranks

Dodoma, Tanzania – The Tanzania Electric Supply Company (TANESCO) has made history by recruiting 555 new employees in a single batch, a landmark move announced at the induction training launch for the new hires. The training, which officially began on July 21, 2025, at the Jakaya Kikwete Hall in Dodoma, was graced by the Chairman of the TANESCO Board of Directors, Dr. Rhimo Nyansaho.

The comprehensive induction program is designed to provide the new recruits with a thorough understanding of their responsibilities within the public service and specifically within TANESCO, before they officially commence work in their respective assigned areas across the country.

During the opening ceremony, Dr. Nyansaho urged the new employees to recognize the significance of the opportunity they have been given and to serve with diligence, integrity, and utmost honesty.

“I particularly thank Her Excellency, President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, for granting us the permission to recruit. This is a unique opportunity, and it is your duty to value it by working with great effort and professionalism,” Dr. Nyansaho emphasized.

Advising them on their professional conduct, she reminded the new hires that TANESCO has made significant strides in providing quality customer service. She stressed the importance of continuing these efforts by serving customers responsibly and with high ethical standards.

“We have made progress in providing quality customer service, so it is important that you continue to serve customers with honesty and integrity for the broader interests of the company and the nation as a whole,” she stated.

Adding to the call for dedication, TANESCO’s Managing Director, Mr. Lazaro Twange, encouraged the new recruits to be ambassadors for the company in their workplaces. He urged them to perform their duties with diligence and honesty, and to provide excellent customer service.

“In your roles, you will be meeting our customers. Serve them with respect and a spirit of dedication, so that together we can continue to build a positive image for TANESCO,” Mr. Twange explained.

These new employees were recently hired by TANESCO after undergoing a rigorous recruitment process. Many of them were previously on temporary contracts, and these new positions offer them the opportunity to secure permanent employment.
