Dodoma, August 8, 2025 — The President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, has commended the Tanzania Agricultural Development Bank (TADB) for its outstanding performance, which has delivered tangible benefits to farmers across the country.
President Samia made the remarks today during the climax of the National Farmers’ Day (Nanenane) Agricultural Exhibition, held in Dodoma, which brought together farmers, livestock keepers, and fishermen from various regions of Tanzania.
She noted that the bank’s impressive performance has strengthened its ability to empower citizens and secured its position as the main sponsor of the exhibition for the next five years.
For his part, TADB Managing Director, Mr. Frank Nyabundege, said the bank’s capital had grown from TZS 60 billion to TZS 442 billion. He also expressed gratitude to President Samia for continuing to empower farmers by providing them with agricultural input loans.
“Madam President, you have secured funding for this bank from various development partners. When you assumed office, there was no donor funding, but through your economic diplomacy efforts, we have received TZS 564 billion from different partners,” said Nyabundege.
He further emphasized that TADB will continue sponsoring the Nanenane Agricultural Exhibition for the next five consecutive years, thanks to its strengthened capital base.
Nyabundege also highlighted that agricultural lending has increased from TZS 19 trillion when President Samia took office to TZS 42 trillion by June this year. “This shows that our economy is growing, and it is the result of the reforms you have implemented in the agricultural sector,” he said.
